This is our first draft of our storyboard and it shows our basic plot line. We need to go back to and change multiple parts of it but we are pleased with our progress so far.

This is the link to Jack Rosies youtube channel and the song we have chosen to use in our trailer. We have picked Jack because he is an unknown artist and this is a convention of Social Realism, the genre we have chosen. We felt that the lyrics of the song work with our trailer as they are talking about being left by someone and feeling alone. This is very similar to the situation our main protagonist is in.

We felt to understand the true conventions of a trailer we needed to pick two trailers that where well known and so we have thoroughly analysed both trailers. This has helped us to decide which type of trailer we want to continue with this year. As a group we felt that we would annotate each trailer and create a visual flow map in order to take down all the codes and conventions such as music and tension.

The Brief

Hello, we are Focus, a group of year 13 Media students. This is us explaining our brief and introducing ourselves as a team as well as our initial thoughts. This introduction to our project allows us to discuss what we think the main similarities and differences of a teaser and a theatrical trailer are at this stage of our promotional package.
